*Father Michael's "Penny Catechism"(A fun and informative little morsel of Catholic teaching and trivia)* Last week's question along with the answer:
Question #151: Why do Catholics wear medals?
Answer: Medals are not jewelry but sacramentals that have been blessed and are to be used only for a holy purpose. They have been in use from the earliest period of the Church. By wearing a medal, an individual is seeking, in a very tangible way the intercessory prayers of the saint whose image is depicted on the medal. If the medal is a crucifix, the individual is being reminded of the sacrifice and love of Jesus.
Question #152: What do the terms Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur mean?
The answer will appear in next week's bulletin along with a new question
