The Council of Catholic Women (C.C.W.) is a national Catholic women's organization. It serves as a principle means of activity and involvement for the women of Blessed Sacrament parish, and all women of the parish are welcome and encouraged to attend. The women of the council also serve the Church on the deanery, diocesan, and national levels.
This organization is vital to the well-being and prosperity of our parish. Some of the events they host annually are the Father's Day Brunch, the Golden Girl's Luncheon, and the St. Patrick's Day and Christmas parties. In addition to sponsoring many parish activities, social events, and parties, the council also offers support and encouragement to families who have recently suffered the death of a loved one.
Each year a holiday bazaar is held as a fundraiser to support financially the various ministries of the women’s council. The bazaar features household goods and crafts donated by parishioners. It is a lively event and requires the energy of many people from throughout the parish. The funds from the Bazaar help to support their many projects throughout the year, including: The Parish Day of Reflection, sponsorship of a child through Unbound, donations to The Michael Dunn Center, and fruit baskets to the homebound at Christmas time. The CCW also offers a scholarship to a graduating high school senior each year.
Meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month in the Parish Center (the brown brick building on the other side of the former Religious Education building), and all the women of the parish are members. Please check the Sunday bulletin for information and plan to attend the next meeting.
