This is now a permanent addition. In keeping with liturgical law, the St. Michael Prayer is to be prayed

not before."
MASS INTENTION today will be for the repose of the soul of John Hooker.

Saint Michael is the patron saint of all first responders and police officers, and we will be giving these cards to all of the local Police, Sheriff’s, Fire, and EMS Departments serving Saint Ann Parish and the local communities of Morgan County. *Father Michael's "Penny Catechism" (A fun and informative little morsel of Catholic teaching and trivia)* Last week's question along with the answer:
Question #139: Why do we occasionally use incense at Holy Mass?
Answer: Like all sacramentals, incense helps us open our minds and hearts to God. Principally, the incense smoke symbolizes our prayer rising to God. Incense is used to sanctify, bless, and venerate. "
Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening offering." (Psalm 141:2 NABRE) The fragrance reminds us of the Kingdom of God. The entire sensory experience connects heaven and earth. "
Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a gold censer (thurible). He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones on the gold altar which was before the throne. The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel." (Revelation 8:3-4 NABRE)
Question #140: What are the vesicles used during incensing?
The answer will appear in next week's bulletin along with a new question
