Remember in your prayers: Mary Sexton, Jo Ellen’s mom, Mary Ellen,Norma Cartwright, Dolores Hayden, the Boniewski family, Lonnie Howard, Katie Kon, and Mary Beth Norris.
Also remember in your prayers the homebound, those in nursing homes, those who have no one to pray for them, and those who have unspoken prayer requests.
ST. ANN CONTACT LISTS: Copies of the long awaited and eagerly anticipated (at least by me!), newly revised St. Ann Contact lists are on the table in the narthex. Take one home. If you find errors (which I am sure there are), let me know so they can be corrected.
Thanks, Mary Jo 865 384-6603 or [email protected]

Archbishop Kurtz was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer that will ultimately lead to the removal of both his prostate and bladder. He has been accepted into an experimental treatment program at Duke University. As you know, the Archbishop served this diocese with distinction for nine years. He will celebrate his 73
rd birthday on August 18. Archbishop Kurtz has asked for our prayers.

At Blessed Sacrament Church: Science and Our Catholic Faith: Today more than ever before, Our Catholic faith is being questioned by those who see no need for religion. Science provides verifiable truths. Religion is founded upon faith which cannot be verified. Indeed, faith describes a relationship with God whom we cannot even prove exists according to empirical evidence. There are also a number of popular myths about the Church and its supposed conflict with scientific discovery. Some of these misunderstandings are the result of presuming objections raised by some Protestant traditions are shared by the Catholic Church.
Join us on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, in Blessed Sacrament Hall. We will begin promptly at 6:30pm and conclude at 8:00pm.
Happy July Birthday to 14 AJ Sexton

Question #128: In the celebration of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, who may be the ministers?
Answer: This is a bit of a trick question. Most people would think in terms of clergy, but in fact, it is the bride and groom who are the ministers of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. They confer the sacrament upon each other. The priest or deacon is a witness to the exchange of vows and is correctly referred to as the officiant of the wedding rite.
Question #129: What is our "Easter Duty" about?
(The answer will appear in next week's bulletin along with a new question)
